Slave To The System, Alice Cooper News...
The month of April
will be full of touring for Slave
to the System,
with shows covering much of the midwest. Dates in Wisconsin, Michigan,
and Indiana have already been confirmed and shows will be posted soon in Kansas,
Texas, and Mississippi. "Stigmata",
the first single from the album, has cracked the Top 30 on the active rock charts
and will climb higher with continued calls and emails to radio stations.
For complete details about all things Slave to the System, go to the official
band site at SlaveToTheSystem.com,
and also their MySpace page at Myspace.com/slavettsystem.
And in other news, Damon will be touring again this year with Alice Cooper and his band. The official 2006 tour kicks off in Canada on May 1 and will carry the band to Belgium, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, and a full run of dates in the U.S. in July and August. Writing for a new album has already commenced and there are even rumors of Slave to the System opening some of the shows later this summer. For all Alice Cooper info, go to AliceCooper.com and the excellent SickThingsUK website (sickthingsuk.co.uk).

second single in the US. Krank
Amplifiers welcomes Damon as their newest endorser. DJ has played

DAMON JOHNSON PRODUCES FIRST FULL-LENGTH ALBUM FOR MEDUSA STONE...
Damon is proud
to announce the release of his first fully produced/engineered/mixed project
out of his own Double Dragon Studios. MEDUSA
STONE is a young, blazing 3-piece band from Wilmington, N.C. fronted
by 19 year old guitar wunderkind/singer/songwriter Justin
Fox. The band was in Alabaster for three weeks in 2004 and have
released their self titled debut album. "Medusa
Stone's sound is very cool and retro, with big riffs, fat grooves, and soulful
vocals," says DJ. "You'll certainly
be hearing more from them in the future." The band's CD is
available through their website at www.MedusaStoneBand.com,
and you can also check for tour date listings and other merchandise. The
band is already hard at work on writing material for their second album, which
Damon hopes to assist them on as well. Show your support for great new music

Radio personalities
Rick and Bubba are presenting "Philips Fest: A Benefit
for our friend, Marc Philips" at the Alabama Theatre
in downtown Birmingham on Thursday night, March 10th.
The theatre seats about 2,200 and is beautiful. Several acts will be involved,
and the headliner is a reunited "all original member" gathering of BROTHER
CANE (the first time in almost 7 years)!!! You heard right!
Roman, Scott, Dave, and DJ will play 4 or 5 songs, then original bassist Glenn
Maxey will get up to play some songs off the first record with Roman
on harmonica. Needless to say, this reunion promises to bring the house
down! It is going to be a truly special night for a very special cause
(hopefully with Marc in attendance as well), so DJ and the guys would
love to see you there. Other acts on the bill include: Locust
Fork, Mr. Lucky and Telluride,

HEADLINE REUNION: ONE NIGHT ONLY! JANUARY 14th...
Damon is excited
about reuniting with his old band from the mid-80's, HEADLINE,
on Friday night January 14
at the BACK DOOR LOUNGE in Guntersville, AL.
"As much as I liked British metal and American
hard rock, I was very fortunate to play in a band like Headline at the time
I did, which was much more of a pop/r&b cover band," says
DJ. "The guys really took me under their
wing and turned me on to so much great music that I would have very possibly
missed otherwise." The entire original band [Pat Upton,
Tim Hammond, Brad Gaither, Mark Thompson, Gene Pledger, and DJ] will perform
two hours worth of music and will be accompanied by their friends in the Uptown
Horns on several songs. "It's going to
be a blast, and I promise NOT to have the old Eddie Van Halen body wave in my
hair that I had back then!" Admission will be $10 the
night of the show.

DAMON SENDS SOME LOVE TO DIME...
As posted by DJ
on the Guestbook Friday, December 10, 2004 @ 2:26 AM: "Felt
compelled to send some love out to Dime's family. I'm as stunned by the
news as everyone else. Roman [Glick]
and I met Dime and Vinnie at a NAMM show in California in '96. They told
us they dug our new album, which at the time was 'Seeds'. When I acted
as if I didn't believe them, Dime started singing the words to 'Rise On Water,'
which only someone who had the CD would know. He loved life and lived
to play that damn guitar. He was an incredible metal guitarist; but beyond
that, he was an incredible fan of music. R.I.P. Darrell."

IMPORTANT NOTICE...
The date for the
Headline reunion has been moved. It will NOT be on December 11
as originally reported. The new date, which is 90% confirmed as of this
posting, will be on Friday, January 14. If
all goes as planned, it will still be at MR.
B's BACK DOOR LOUNGE in Guntersville. This will be a huge show
and many of you might want to consider getting tickets in advance. Post
any questions you may have to the Guestbook, and we'll keep you updated.

Damon will be performing
a special "homecoming" acoustic show in Guntersville, AL (near
his hometown of Geraldine) on Friday
night, Nov. 19 with his good friend Gene Pledger
accompanying him on percussion. The venue is called MR.
B's BACK DOOR LOUNGE, which is the location of the old P.J.'s Alley club
where Damon played in the house band, HEADLINE,
in the mid 80's. Showtime is 8:00 pm and tickets are $10. There
will be several different "Damon CD's" for sale that night, including Dust,
Slave to the System, and Red Halo's Dead Man's Vitamin. Also, there will

on sale that night, all of which are now out of print.
On the heels of this show, Damon and his old band, HEADLINE, will be having their first ever reunion show at the Back Door Lounge in Guntersville on Saturday night, Dec. 11. This is a party that is sure to be "off the hook," and you don't want to miss it. The original members of Headline are Gene Pledger, Brad Gaither, Tim Hammond, Mark Thompson, and Pat Upton. Pat was a member of the classic band Spiral Staircase, that had a huge hit song in the early 70's, "I Love You More Today Than Yesterday" (which Pat wrote and sang). The guys will surely be performing this and lots of other songs they covered "back in the day". It's going to be a special night (beware the "return of the mullet"!!!!!). Stay tuned here for more details.

YEAR'S EVE SHOW CANCELED...
The
Damon and The Welfare show scheduled at Off the Wagon in Montgomery on New Year's
Eve has been canceled. The club has had one inspection hurdle after another
to deal with, and both the band and the venue felt it was in everyone's best
interest to postpone the show until a later date. The guys at the club
have been very cool and plan to have the band appear there very soon.
Check the tour schedule for info on other upcoming Welfare dates (please
note the special acoustic date Damon is playing with Eric Johnson on March 5).
Thanks to everyone for the support, and as a special Xmas gift to all of the
faithful fans out there, we have added a new MP3 of Brother Cane's rendition

CH-CH-CHANGES:
OUR HERO MAKES A BIG MOVE...
The
winds of change are blowing once again. Damon released this statement:
"With the support of the other guys in the band, I
have decided to make a change in Red Halo. Due to a combination of several
factors, I am stepping down as singer and bass player. This is something
I've had in the back of my mind for quite a while, and we are very fortunate
to have already found the right guys for the job. The new singer for Red
Halo is Mark Fain... an incredible front man. Mark was in a band called
Chlorine that played some dates with Brother Cane in '98 and Virgos Merlot in
'99. He is not only excited to be involved, but brings a lot of musical
vocabulary and creative energy to the table. Mark also brings his bass
player, Jared Mueller, with him. They are not only great musicians and
artists, but great guys as well. I welcome them to the fold."
"When Jason and I hooked up last year to start writing some songs, I was not looking to join another band. At this point in my career and in my personal life, the thought of being on the road multiple dates a year and being away from my family was not something that interested me, and it still doesn't. Add to that, in this image driven industry we call "work", my age was becoming a factor. But to complicate matters, the new songs were awesome, as were all the guys in the band. Next thing you know, we've written 15 songs, are booking shows, and getting our inner circle of friends and business associates VERY excited about what we were doing. So much for not joining another band..."
"With the success of our new CD and the radio airplay, the time has come for the band to start showcasing for the record industry and hit the road aggressively. The band's chances of long term success are much better with the new line-up, and I am incredibly excited to continue my work with Red Halo as a songwriter and producer. Thanks to all of my family, friends and fans that have supported Red Halo; I know you will all continue to do so. Finally, major thanks to Jason, Deacon, and Billy for all their hard work and friendship. Red Halo is happening, and it's time for the rest of the world to find out about it."
"For
me, there is lots of new music to be written and recorded, and more shows to be
performed, along with lots of surprises. Many thanks!"

MAY 2003 "DAMON JOHNSON AND
THE WELFARE" MAKE THEIR DEBUT...
What?
Another new band with Damon in it? Isn't that a total of 27 bands he's
in? Not to worry your musical brains, comrades; Damon has simply been
wanting to have an outlet to get together with some friends, play lots of electric
guitar, and have some fun. "The Welfare will
be the world's ultimate bar band!", says Damon. "With
Red Halo in full swing and having cut back on my acoustic shows, The Welfare
will be showing up in some regional bars, playing my favorite cover tunes, and
having a blast." The band features Red Halo/recent Brother
Cane drum god, Billy Wilkes and long-time friend and local legend Alan Park
on bass and vocals. At the moment, the set list is heavy on the classics:
ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Skynyrd, etc. But the guys have
even worked up some twisted versions of hits by newer bands. "Don't
come and request Brother Cane...you stand a better chance of us playing a Romantics
song or something by Weezer," says the boss. The maiden flight
of The Welfare will be at the historic War
Eagle Supper Club in Auburn, AL on Saturday night, May 24, followed closely
by Chase Pub & Grill in Pelham, AL on Thursday night, May 29 (more dates
at the Chase coming in June). You never know who will show up to sit
in! As always, stay tuned here for more gig
info.

Montgomery, AL the following night. For one night only, 95.1
The Fox in Montgomery presents Brother Cane LIVE in celebration of
the station's birthday. The show will be at Shriner's Auditorium; showtime
begins around 7:30. See the TOUR section for

AUG 2002 SLAVE TO THE SYSTEM IN
CONCERT...
Almost too good to
be true, rock super-group SLAVE
TO THE SYSTEM will perform for the very first time in public on Friday,
October 11th in Nashville, TN at a venue called The
Church (629
3rd Avenue South) as part of the Nashville
New Music Conference. "Yes, I'm very excited,"
Damon tells us. "We've been waiting for the right
opportunity to do a show, and some great supporters of STTS have helped make this
one happen." STTS is a project started in November of 2000 that
is comprised of Damon on guitar and vocals, Roman Glick
on bass, Scott Rockenfield (Queensryche) on drums,
Kelly Gray (Wishpool producer) on guitar and Scotty
Heard on guitar and vocals. "It's been amazing
to re-connect with these songs and work them up for public performance,"
says Damon. "And the best news is that there will
be many industry types at this show that could help us get the ball rolling on
an official international release of our debut album." This is
a must-see for all Brother Cane and DJ fans everywhere. Click HERE
for more info.

AUG 2002 DAMON PLAYS GUITAR ON
NEW FAITH HILL SINGLE...
Coming from the "How
bizarre is this?" news department, Damon appears on the newest Faith
Hill single, "Cry". "Yeah,
it's pretty cool," Damon says. "It's
a beautiful song written by Angie Aparo, and I played electric and acoustic guitar."
The track was produced by Damon's longtime friend, Marti Frederiksen. Also
of note are the other players on the track: drum legend Vinnie
Colaiuta (Sting's band) and L.A. session ace Leland Sklar on bass (James Taylor,
etc). "It was great to work with Marti again and
an honor to be on a track with so many amazing musicians that I've admired for
years." And how cute is Faith in person? "Well
you'll have to ask someone else that question," Damon laughs.
"Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet Faith. Marti
had already recorded her vocal tracks in New York and we cut guitars in L.A.,
but I hear she's the consumate pro and very grateful for all the success she's
had." Be listening for "Cry"
as it goes to radio on August 12, and look for the video everywhere.

MAY 2002 BREAKING NEWS:
GD ROCKSTAR UNDERGOES PLASTIC SURGURY...
As has often been
discussed on our site, Damon has much enthusiasm for his side project, GD
Rockstar. Due to pressure from the government (haha), the
fellas have changed the name to THE MOTORBELLY.
"We're very proud of our new name, almost like having
a new puppy!" says Damon. "The Motorbelly
is sitting on a 7 song EP that we are dying to get released, so we're gonna do
it ourselves and will be making it available this summer." Be
on the lookout for more information at DJ.com about The
Motorbelly.

MAY 2002 DAMON FINALLY SURFACES!!...
After months of speculation
of possible drowning or summiting Mt. Everest, lo and behold our hero has been
located ... with a paint brush in hand. "I
moved to a different house in early spring and have been hanging out at Lowes
and Home Depot," Damon says. "Unfortunately,
I haven't been playing many gigs, so the time off has been perfect to paint my
kids rooms and fix the toilet!" However, there is some big news:
Much progress on a "BEST OF.." Brother Cane
record. "I'm still getting all the team assembled,
but things look good for Marti [Frederiksen] and I to get together in June to
write some tunes. The album would have 8-10 tracks from the first three
albums and then three new songs." The goal would be to get a
song on the radio and hit the road ("aggressively!",
Damon adds).
In other news, Damon's background vocals will appear on the new Ted Nugent album, CRAVEMAN, scheduled for late summer release. "Ted cut a couple of songs that he and I wrote together, and I added backgrounds to several other tunes." There are also plans for Damon to assist John Waite in the studio this summer for his next album (and look for a few select JW dates on the west coast in July with Damon on guitar). Check the Tour section also for upcoming solo acoustic dates in Montgomery, Auburn, Gadsden, and Huntsville. "I just want to say hello to everyone and thanks for the continued support and patience. With all this "ROCK" on the radio these days, it's high time for Brother Cane to get out there and claim it's share of the mountain!" More details coming soon....

NOV 2001 HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ONE
AND ALL...
Damon will be doing
a run of acoustic dates with "Mr. Voice", Mike
Farris beginning December 5th in New York (see the Tour
page for all dates). In addition to that there are some more dates that
Damon will play guitar with John
Waite. "John's second single, 'Fly', is doing
really well at AC radio," Damon says. "We're
trying to squeeze some more promo dates in before the end of the year and then
some actual show dates in January and February." You can catch
Damon with John in Omaha, NE on 12/11, the House of Blues in Las Vegas on 12/14,
and then acoustic in Atlanta on 12/15. Check here for more info over the
next few days.
And for all of you who simply can't get enough of the fantastic new side project music ... Christmas is coming a little early for you this year, for we now have the rest of the Slave To The System MP3s up on the Music page for you to gnaw on for awhile. And don't forget that Brother Cane's killer rendition of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" is still available on this site to help get you in the Holiday spirit.

SEP 2001 D.J. RETURNS FROM THE
ROAD AND ROCKS B'HAM WITH THE MOTOR CITY MADMAN...
Damon
just returned from three months on the road as guitarist for John Waite on the
Journey / Frampton / Waite tour. "Everything was
completely cool," Damon says.
"John
sounds better than ever and has a great new album that was just released (on August
22). It's a pretty smokin' band he put together (Buck Johnson on keyboards,
Jonathan Dresel on drums, and Mark Meadows on bass) and the performances were
consistently stellar." According to Damon, "We
plan to go back out this fall and winter for headline dates in clubs and theatres,
and John and I have already started writing some things for the future.
He's an incredible inspiration to work with and a brilliant songwriter."
Look for more updates here and also check JohnWaite.com
for other info about the album and tour.
In other news ... when Ted Nugent played the Oak Mountain Ampitheatre in Birminghm, AL on Friday night, Aug 31st with Lynyrd Skynyrd, he extended the invitation for Damon to once again join him onstage. "When Mr. Nugent calls, you just gotta be there," Damon laughs. "As we did when he was through town last year with KISS, Ted brought me out to play 'Cat Scratch Fever', and the place blew up!!!" Damon and Ted have been doing some writing for an upcoming Nugent album, which will hopefully be out after the first of the new year. "I've told the story before, but the three posters on my wall in 1979 were Ace Frehley, Eddie Van Halen, and Ted Nugent. It's never anything less than spectacular to hang out with Ted, his band, and his family, and I'm grateful for his friendship and encouragement."
And furthermore ... look for Damon to bring his acoustic guitar and open the show for the long awaited "Wheeliefest" on Friday, Sept 7th and then the following night [9/08] performing with the Wheelies once again at their show in Wetlands, NY!!! Damon has been writing songs for Mike Farris' solo album, and the two are planning to do more acoustic dates together in the future.
01
JUN 2001 DAMON TO PLAY GUITAR
FOR JOHN WAITE...
For most of the summer,
Damon will be traveling the U.S. as guitar player for John Waite (yeah, you
remember, the "Missing You" guy and lead singer for
the Babys and Bad English).
John, with Damon on board handling all guitar duties as well as background vocals,
will be opening dates for the Journey/Peter
Frampton tour, and the first leg will last through mid-August. Damon
filled us in on the details: "I got a call last
month from my old friend Buck Johnson, who I'd known since the early Birmingham
club days, and he plays keyboards for John. He told me about the available guitar
spot in John's band and I thought it would simply be a great time to get out and
play some big stages again and NOT have to be in charge of making so many decisions
for a change," Damon laughs. John has a new solo album coming
out this summer, and Damon says the set will include several of John's new songs
as well as many of his familiar hits. "John is
such the rock star and is a great, great singer", Damon says.
"He's a big fan of Humble Pie and Free, which is something we have in common.
We're also discussing doing some headline dates on some of the off nights on the
tour, as well as some acoustic performances at several radio stations and morning
T.V. shows." You can get tons of info on John at the official
site, JohnWaite.com, and
Damon looks forward to seeing some of you on the road.
On another note, "Everyday", the Stevie Nicks single that Damon co-wrote, is doing very well. The video is in major rotation on VH-1 and the song is Top 10 on most of the Adult and Contemporary radio charts. The entire album is a great one, and Damon gives it a full endorsement for any of you considering buying it in the near future. Stay tuned to DamonJohnson.com for more updates and news from the road as well.

MAR 2001 DAMON'S STEVIE NICKS
SONG FINALLY RELEASED...
Damon has been mentioning
for several months that Stevie
Nicks has recorded one of his songs, "Everyday"
(he co-wrote it with his friend, John Shanks).
On Tuesday, March 20th, it was released to Top 40 and Pop radio as HER FIRST
SINGLE!!! Her new album, entitled TROUBLE IN
SHANGRI-LA, will be out in stores on May 1st. Be looking for
Stevie to perform the song on Letterman, Leno and Saturday Night Live in the coming
weeks. Her record company is simultaneously releasing another song, "Planets
of the Universe", to some of the more Rock-leaning stations across
the country. But Damon is, in his words, "pumped"
that his song is the one going to all the pop stations. This is HUGE
news for Damon and be looking for him to perform "Everyday"
at his upcoming solo acoustic, Dragonfly, and Brother
Cane shows.

areas this week! The guys will be hitting the stage once again down at the
Blue
Room in Auburn on Thursday, Jan 11th, an then

Hall on Saturday the 13th for a killer homecoming
throw down as only Damon and the guys can do. If you haven't seen them lately
then you owe it to yourself to go, for they're kicking ass and taking names more
and more as the prodigious Y2Cane machine rolls onward and upward into 2001.

NOV 2000 "Borderline"
to be included on forthcoming Thin Lizzy tribute CD...
The killer news from
the DJ front this week is that Damon's fab rendition of the Thin Lizzy classic
"Borderline" (which, as you
know, appears on Damon's latest album and the CDbaby.com
bestseller, DUST) will be included on a double-CD
compilation tribute to
commemorate the legacy of the
late, great Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott. For
more information on this forthcoming release, be sure to check out this info
page and keep it bookmarked for more updates to come. Damon is extremely
stoked to have been asked to contribute to this project, so be sure to pick up
a copy upon it's February 2001 release to lend your help to this worthy cause.

OCT 2000 Upcoming Shows / GD Rockstar
/ DY update...
Greetings DJ fans
and friends! Don't forget that tomorrow [Fri-10/27]
Brother Cane will be rockin' the stage at The
Fox's 11th Annual Birthday Bash in Montgomery
opening for .38 Special, so if you're in the area
be sure not to miss it! The following evening [Sat-10/28]
Damon will be performing his acoustic tunes at Willie
J's in Guntersville, and it's an all-ages
show, so bring the kids and get set to have a great time diggin' on
all the great tunes past and present!
Damon reports that the GD Rockstar EP is almost finished!!! The song titles are: "Tumblin' Down", "Nobody Usin'", "Pretty Name Dropper", "Queer for Horsepower", "Black Cloud", "When I Get Paid", and "Hot Stuff" (yes, the Donna Summer tune!!). Lead vocal duties on all tracks are shared by Damon and Johnny Blade. A few final background vocals are still needed, and then it's off to the mixing room. Stay tuned for more GD Rockstar updates to come!
In other brother news as of late, this past Saturday [10/21] both Roman Glick and Damon headed up to Seattle to do some writing with Wishpool producer and Queensryche guitarist Kelly Gray. They'll be in town for the week helping Kelly on some tunes for a record that he's doing with 'Ryche drummer Scott Rockenfield. Damon says, "I'm stoked to work with Roman again and drink lots of Seattle coffee!!!!!!!!"
A lot of you have been writing and asking about the status of the Damn Yankees, so here's the word direct from DJ himself: "The Damn Yankees project is in significant limbo. Much indecision about which songs to go on the album, and the band is no longer working with Portrait Records. Tommy Shaw is still busy doing Styx, Ted's promoting his new book, and dissatisfaction over initial mixes of the record have pushed everything back. More updates to come as more info is received." In the meantime, Damon will be working full speed ahead on getting Dragonfly a record deal, so keep your fingers crossed and get out to the DJ and Y2Cane shows whenever and wherever you can. Thanks!

AUG 2000 Y2Cane update...
Firstly, DJ and I
want to thank you good folks for not bombarding us with a million questions concerning
the Bro Cane shows and current band line-up. And as promised, here is some
more info on "Y2Cane" in a handy
Q&A format:
Q: Why did Damon decide to put Brother Cane back together?
A: "To play some shows and have an outlet for my new songs. The stuff I wrote last year for my Dragonfly project sounds so much like Brother Cane that it fits nicely along side the BC catalog. Also, the Damn Yankees album and tour has been pushed back until after the first of the year, so I have a few months to continue to write and work up new material."Q: Will any of the other original members be playing with you?
A: "No. They are all very occupied on other projects."Q: Where will Brother Cane be playing?
A: "Mainly around the southeast for the time being, with plans to tour other parts of the country in late fall."Q: Who is in the band?
A: "Leif Bonderenko on drums (from my Dragonfly band), Saylor Anderson on guitar (worked with me in Earnest Welfare in '97), and Danny Lackey on bass (newcomer from Gadsden, AL)."Q: What Bro Cane songs can people expect to hear?
A: "Everything! We'll be playing stuff that hasn't been performed since the first album tour in '94, and yes.....we are taking requests!"
Hope that answers everyone's burning questions on the subject, but as always stay tuned for more to come...
09
AUG 2000 DUST Tour dates added
/ New Bro Cane dates...
As indicated in the
last News posting, Damon is adding more dates to his DUST
tour (which have been moved to their own page now),
some of which will be with Mike Farris, so if you
haven't gotten to see this incredible pairing then we strongly urge you to do
so before the guys' busy schedules prevent them from doing more shows together.
The big news of the day that is sure to be answered with a flood of curious email and posts to the guestbook (which we politely ask that you please refrain from doing so thanks) is that Damon will be performing Brother Cane material at some upcoming shows around the Southeast. The band will consist of Damon and some new players, as all the original members of BC are involved in other projects at this time. Stay tuned to this page for more Bro Cane info and updates soon to come!
02
AUG 2000 Damn Yankees update...
The release for the
Damn Yankees album has been pushed backed until late
2000 or January 2001. "There is some dissatisfaction
with some of the mixes," Damon says, "and
a couple of the songs need a little more work, so we're back to the challenge
of having to work around everyone's schedules to try to all get back together
in the studio for a few days." Damon says the additional
work will be completed at Jack Blade's studio, and
this schedule change allows him to add more acoustic dates to his tour (and
also more tour dates w/ Mike Farris)!

JUN 2000 More Damn News...
....as in more Damn
Yankees news that is. Damon just went into the studio yesterday to
lay down some vocals, and everything's going great! But the big news to
report today is that Tommy Shaw will also
be recording on the album and making guest appearances on select tour stops along
the way as well (schedules permitting)! Don't worry, for Damon is
still an official member of the group, it's just that now they'll have 3 powerful
vocalists and 3 powerful guitarists to make for one truly awesome sound.
Talk about a tour that's gonna ROCK
it'll probably
be the best show you'll see all year! Anyhoo, check out the latest entry
from The
Road for
the direct skinny on all that and more.
And speaking of fellow Alabamian Tommy... he has been submitting notes from the current Styx tour on STYXworld.com, and he wrote some cool things about his first meeting with DJ in his June 1st entry so check it out.

MAY 2000 Welcome to DJ.com...
Hello to everyone
from Damon's web guy, Craig.
The new DJ site is still being tweaked as we speak, and fresh content will always
be added, so just to let you know this site will be a continual work-in-progress.
As you may have already seen on "The Road"
page, Damon himself will be sending in updates from the road so everyone can keep
up with the absolute latest word from the source and perhaps live a little vicariously
through DJ's travels and experiences. If you want to drop DJ a line you
can do so by signing the Guestbook, however, although
we advocate the right to one's free speech, this fan forum will be moderated to
ensure it doesn't end up like the disabled chat page on BrotherCane.com
(which was getting way too out of hand).
Damon wants you to feel free to speak your minds here, so please refrain from
slamming (flaming) anyone else for sharing
their opinions despite how they differ from your own. Negative and other
unwanted postings will be removed from the guestbook, so don't sweat it
just drop
me a line and let me know it's out there so I can take care of it. If
all goes well then we can keep the guestbook the way it is.
Hope you folks dig your visit to DamonJohnson.com..........more to come.......

MAR 2000 DAMON JOINS DAMN YANKEES
FOR ALBUM AND TOUR
It was made official recently [3/8] that Damon will be joining the DAMN YANKEES for an album and tour, replacing original member Tommy Shaw. The new Damn Yankees line-up will consist of Damon (on vocals and guitar), singer/bassist Jack Blades, drummer Michael Cartellone and rock legend Ted Nugent on lead guitar. Apparently DY A&R man John Kalodner was "blown away" upon hearing an 8-song set by the band, which consisted mostly of new material (Damon has already written two new songs with Jack Blades titled "We Are the Ones" and "Even Though").
Damon was quoted as saying that, "Jack is a very seriously talented songwriter and I wanted to BE Ted Nugent when I was 15, so I'm excited to learn a lot from these guys, and have some fun in the process. And it doesn't hurt that everybody in the band sings their asses off." Damon plans to continue writing and working on his Dragonfly project, as well as the GD Rockstar material with former Autumn Lords guitarist Johnny Blade. Damon says he would also "love" to do another Brother Cane album sometime in early 2001.
